Arts Writing:
back in the day
The first time I interviewed curator Djon Mundine was in 1989 in the remote Aboriginal community of Ramingining in Central Arnhem Land for a story published by the Sydney Morning Herald. I interviewed Djon again in 2016 for a blog post about his curatorial practice and exhibition, Sixth Sense, and we revisited that time.

Here's the 1989 piece based on my Ramingining interview with Djon, plus two other stories I wrote as a freelancer back in the day for the Herald's art pages on pop culturalist Philip Brophy and artist Juan Davila.
